MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin volleyball team dropped just their 2nd match of the season Sunday losing to Purdue at the UW-Fieldhouse in four sets. The loss snapped a nine-match winning streak.
Grace Loberg led Wisconsin with 15 kills. Jade Demps had 13, Julia Orzol 11 and Devyn Robinson 10. Sydney Hilley had a double-double with 49 assists and 16 digs. Lauren Barnes had a career-high 33 digs.
The Badgers remain in first place in the Big Ten after Nebraska lost to Minnesota. Wisconsin will play at Northwestern on Friday and at Iowa on Saturday.
The Wisconsin womens basketball team opened their season with a 81-47 win over UW-Oshkosh on Sunday.
Wisconsin shot over 54% from the field and over 47% from three-point range.
Julie Pospisilova led the way with 15 points. Sydney Hilliard had 13 and Katie Nelson added 12.
Wisconsin, under new coach Marisa Mosely, returns to action Nov 10th vs St. Thomas at the Kohl Center.
The #1 ranked Wisconsin womens hockey team completed a sweep of Minnesota State-Mankato and stayed unbeaten to start the season with a 6-2 win on Saturday.
Makenna Webster had a four point day and a natural hat-trick for Wisconsin. The Badgers also got goals from Katie Kotlowski, Casey O’Brien (her NCAA leading 13th goal) and Maddie Posick. All three of Webster’s goals came in the 3rd period.
The Badgers, now 12-0, host Bemidji State on Saturday and Sunday.
The Wisconsin mens soccer team beat Rutgers on a tiebreak on Sunday and clinched the fifth seed in the upcoming Big Ten Tournament.
The Badgers will face Michigan in Ann Arbor.
