ANTIGO, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Antigo Police Department is investigating a stabbing death, and searching for a person of interest.
According to a news release, police found a person dead from apparent stab wounds at around 9:20 Monday morning. The discovery was made while performing a welfare check at a house.
The victim’s name hasn’t been released.
Police have identified a person of interest, Derek Goplin, 38, who was last seen in the Waukesha area. Goplin is 5-foot-11, 150 pounds, and was last seen wearing jeans, black shoes, a dark green camouflage coat, a red hooded sweatshirt and a green or brown beanie hat. Antigo Police are also trying to locate his vehicle, a red 2016 Ford Explorer with a custom license plate RANDYR.
The public is urged to use caution if you see Golpin. He may have a knife and is known to carry a gun, according to Antigo Police. Call 911 if you have information on his whereabouts.
