ANTIGO, WI (WSAU) — The victim in a homicide in Antigo has been identified as 63-year-old Susan Reese.
She was found fatally stabbed during a police welfare check on Monday morning.
Video surveillance at the property shows the victim and a child were outside the home. Video later shows a person of interest, Derek Goplin of Waukesha, leaving with the child.
The child, a 5-year-old, has since told police that “grandma tried to kill dad, and then dad stabbed grandma.” The child was found wandering at a nearby motel.
Police say the investigation is ongoing.
Goplin is still at large. He’s a 38-year-old white male, 5-foot-11, 150 pounds. It’s believed he’s carrying a knife and a gun, and should not be approached. Police say anyone with information should call 911.
