WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau woman will go to trial in the death of a 2-month old boy she was babysitting after withdrawing her insanity plea in the case.
Marissa Tietsort is accused of causing the death of the child and then returning the baby to its mother without telling her the child had died. The death occurred in October of 2018.
The 31-year-old was charged with first-degree intentional homicide in January of 2019 but later changed that to not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect. That plea was withdrawn last week.
She has been linked to numerous reports of child abuse and was facing other charges when this incident occurred.
A hearing in the case has been set for November 18th and a jury trial is scheduled to begin November 29th. Tietsort faces life in prison.
