STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP womens hockey team dropped a 6-3 decision to St. Scholastica in their home opener on Friday night.
The Pointers tied the game at 3 early in the 3rd period but couldnt hold off a three goal onslaught which included a power play goal and an empty netter.
The Pointer goals went to Sara Aadalen, Laina Berthiaume and Courtney Leising. Olivia Schultz had 34 saves.
The Pointers face the Saints again this afternoon at 2:30 at Ice Hawks Arena.
The UWSP mens hockey team beat Gustavus Adolphus 2-1 on Friday night in St. Peter Minnesota.
Wilson Northey got the game winner with under a minute to play. The other Pointer goal went to Carter Roo shorthanded. Ryan Wagner had 21 saves.
The Pointers, n ow 2-1 will play at St Scholastica tonight at 7pm.
The UWSP womens basketball team won their season opener 67-49 at St. Norbert on Friday night.
Freshman Gabby Gawlitta had a double-double in her collegiate debut with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Taylor Greenheck had 10 points.
The Pointers, now 1-0, will host St. Mary’s on Tuesday.
The UWSP football team will play at UW-Oshkosh this afternoon at 1pm
