WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The Wausau School Board is continuing to cast a wide net for feedback regarding facilities needs in the community.
The Board will host another community engagement session on Monday ahead of the board’s regularly scheduled meeting at John Muir Middle School. The conversation begins at 5 PM and is scheduled to go until the start of the board meeting at 6.

The District is considering putting another referendum question before voters next April. One would bring the district an additional $150 million for building upgrades with no impact on the current tax levels, another would raise $200 million and would raise taxes by $35 per $100,000 of property value. Those questions were introduced at the last community engagement session in late October, but specifics of what they would accomplish were not given.
Superintendent Keith Hilts previously told WSAU News that Monday’s session could include more discussion on some topics like the possible consolidation of schools or moving to one high school, two-campus formant for grades 9-12.
He adds that any final decision on those topics is likely years away.
