STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens hockey team topped St. Johns 4-2 on Friday night at KB Willet Arena.
Connor Scahill scored a short-handed goal that broke a 2-2 tie with just over two minutes in regulation. Carter Roo scored a shorty 29 seconds later.
The other Pointer goals went to Brandon McReynolds and Noah Finstrom. Ryan Wagner had 23 saves.
The Pointers, now 3-2, will host Bethel tonight.
The UWSP womens hockey team dropped a 7-0 decison to UW River Falls on Friday night at Ice Hawks Arena.
Despite giving up seven goals, Pointer goalie Olivia Schultz set a team record with 55 saves.
The Pointers, now 2-5, are off unttil November 20th when they will host UW-Superior.
The UWSP womens basketball team lost a lead in the 4th quarter and fell to Benedictine 71-68 in overtime.
Taylor Greenheck had 15 points to lead the Pointers. Abbie Campion had 11 and Josie Nies added 10.
The Pointers, now 2-1, will face Concordia (Wis) today at 4pm at Berg Gym
The 22nd ranked UWSP volleyball team was knocked out of the NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 loss to 21st ranked Bethel in Waverly Iowa.
Freshman Ashley Kopp became the fourth player in program history to reach 500 kills on the season with 13 in the match. Grace Michalske had 30 assists
The UWSP football team closes out their season today with a 1pm game vs UW-Whitewater at Goerke Field.
The UWSP mens basketball team hosts Madison Edgewood tonight at 7pm at Quandt Fieldhouse.
