MADISON, WI (WSAU) — The Wisconsin Badgers had no problems with Northwestern despite being down a running back as Braelon Allen recorded 173 yards and 3 touchdowns in a 35-7 win on Saturday.
The two sides played to a scoreless first quarter before Allen scored twice in the second, bookending a 13-yard Danny Davis touchdown reception from Grahm Mertz.
Jake Ferguson found himself on the end of an 11-yard strike from Mertz to open the scoring in the second half before Allen would score his third touchdown of the game to open up a 35-0 lead
Northwestern recorded their lone score in the 4th quarter on a fumble recovery that was taken 49-yards to the house.
In addition to the 2 touchdown passes Mertz finished the day with 18 completions for 216 yards. Running back Julius Davis added 47 rushing yards.
Davis and Ferguson each recorded 46 and 43 receiving yards, respectively.
Nebraska will visit Camp Randall next week for Senior Day. The game is set to kick at 2:30, pregame coverage will begin at 12:30 on WSAU. Wisconsin then wraps up the regular season on the road against Minnesota and remains alive for a birth in the Big Ten Championship game in Indianapolis.
