STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens hockey team scored three goals in under two minutes in the 2nd period and earned a 4-1 win over Bethel on Saturday night at KB Willet.
Freshman Fletcher Anderson scored his first goal for the Pointers on a power play in the first period. The 2nd period goal flurry went to Jordan Roo, Brett Humberstone and Brandon McReynolds.
Ryan Wagner had 18 saves.
The Pointers, now 4-2, open conference play on Friday night hosting UW-River Falls.
The UWSP womens basketball team beat Concordia of Wisconsin 65-55 on Saturday night at Berg Gym.
Freshman Alexa Thomson led the way with 15 points. Josie Nies had 13 and Jamie Pfeifer had 10.
The Pointers, now 3-1, will host Luther this Saturday at 3pm.
Rachel Krouse of UWSP was name a qualifier for the NCAA D-3 Cross Country Championships that will be run on Saturday in Louisville Kentucky.
She finished 7th in the Midwest Regional on Saturday with a season-best time of 22:23.3
The UWSP football team completed their season with a 56-10 loss to UW-Whitewater on Saturday at Gierke Field.
Max Herro threw a TD pass to Joe Aguilera for the Pointers only touchdown.
The Pointers finish their season at 2-8 and were winless in the WIAC.
