RIB MOUNTAIN, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Granite Peak ski area is scheduled to open early — the day before Thanksgiving.
Between colder temperatures and an early dusting of snow, opening day for the ski area’s 84th season is now set for November 24th. A countdown timer is displayed on their web page. The first runs will start at 10am.
Granite Peak officials say they’ll begin snowmaking operations on Thursday night.
Six trails and two lifts are planned to be available, with more coming online as the season progresses.
Most facilities will be open and available, although the new chalet and Historic Lodge and Deck won’t be until the grand opening on December 10th.
