GREEN BAY, WI (WSAU) — The Green Bay Packers made some roster moves on Monday to shore up their depth after some injuries on Sunday.
Whitley Mercilus was placed on injured reserve after tearing his bicep in Sunday’s game. They signed linebacker Tipa Galeai from the practice squad to the 53 man roster.
Galeai is a second year undrafted free agent from Utah State. He has spent a year and a half on trhe Packers practice squad. He played in one game for the Packers last season.
The Packers also re-signed linebacker La’Darius Hamilton to the practice squad. He was with the team in September and played a bit in three games when Za’Darius Smith went down. He could be elevated from the practice squad sometime this week.
They also signed running back Kerrith Whyte to the practice squad. He was a 7th round pick of the Bears in 2019. He joins Ryquell Armstead as the two running backs on the practice squad. One could be promoted while Aaron Jones is out.
