Wisconsin is the first club from the Big Ten to win the Maui Invite since Illinois defeated Butler in 2012. Wisconsin lost the 2016 tournament final to North Carolina.
The Badgers will have the next week off before participating in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge against Georiga Tech in Atlanta on December 1st.
St. Mary’s, a perennial NCAA tournament contender out of the West Coast Conference, finishes second in the tournament. Earlier in the day, Houston defeated Oregon for 3rd place. The 5th and 7th place games will be played this evening.
The 2021 Maui Invitational was moved to Las Vegas due to COVID-19 concerns, with the intention of returning the tournament to the Hawaiian Islands in 2022.
