APPLETON, WI (WSAU) — An Appleton man has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for defrauding Social Security of more than $73,500.
63 year-old John Fischer pled guilty to Supplemental Security Income Fraud. He claimed he met the criteria for the supplemental income, but was reportedly hiding bank accounts, investments and other assets that pushed him above the limit.
The US Attorney’s Office has initiated an action to seize and auction two of Fischer’s vehicles, including a fully restored 1957 Chevy Bel Air that Fischer concealed from SSA.
