WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Sylvan Hill in Wausau began making their snow Monday morning.
Crews will be making it over the next few days and stopping when the slopes are fully covered.
The hill plans on opening next weekend, but that also depends on the weather.
“December 11 is our opening Saturday and that is dependent on how much snow we get.” Marathon County Recreations Superintendent Mark Dorow said, “We can make snow but sometimes the weather doesn’t cooperate and melts it faster than we can make it.”
Sylvan Hill will be open on Fridays 6-9:30 PM, Saturdays 1:30-5 PM, 6-9:30 PM, and Sundays from 1:30-5 PM. They offer private rentals during the week and on Sunday nights.
Riders must be at least 42 inches tall to sled.
The hill will be open through March 13th
