AMHERST, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – Central Sands Community High School is now accepting applicants.
The new public charter school will be accepting 75 students for the 2022-2023 school year.
Students interested in applying should be entering ninth through eleventh grade next year. “Charter schools are public institutions they have to abide to all the state mandates like a traditional school,” said Chamomile Nusz, Governance Boards Chair for Central Sands.
Central Sands is a public Waldorf school. The school aims to educate a well-rounded student. Working on their mind, body and their social-emotional needs while teaching practical skills. “The wonderful thing a charter school does, there is space for autonomy and creativity, and how that education is brought to the students,” Nusz said.
Applications will be accepted through March 31, 2022.
Starting in 2023-2024 Central Sands will be open for ninth through twelfth grades.
