ELAND, WI (WSAU) — A man from Eland was sentenced in Marathon County Court in a plea deal on animal mistreatment charges causing death and two other charges.
William Hannahs was charged in 2020 after six dogs were removed from his property and a dead dog was found in a barrel. The dogs were left outside in extremely cold tempratures and were not fed and watered properly.
Two charges, including the felony were dropped as part of the deal and Hannahs received a deferred judgement on the other charge from Judge Greg Strasser.
He will avoid prison time if he adheres to the plea agreement and does not have any new criminal charges over the next nine months.
