DETROIT, MI (WSAU) — The old saying goes ‘they are professionals, too.’
Aaron Rodgers and Jordan Love split QB duties while David Bakhtiari made his season debut in a 37-30 loss to Detroit, which did no damage to Green Bay’s positioning going into the NFL Postseason tournament.
Rodgers was nearly perfect on the day going 14/18 for 138 yards and two touchdowns, both to Allen Lazard (one yard and 29 yards).
The Lions managed to take a 17-13 lead going into halftime thanks to a 34-yard field goal from Riley Patterson.
Green Bay would turn to Jordan Love for the remainder of the game who produced two touchdown drives that were capped by a one-yard run from Patrick Taylor and a 62-yard strike to Josiah Deguara.
Lazard and Deguara were the leading receivers in the game with 75 and 66 yards, respectively, and three combined TDs. Davante Adams had six catches for 55 yards on seven targets.
AJ Dillion once again led the rushing attack with 14 carries for 63 yards. Taylor had his number called 11 times for 53 yards and the score.
Mason Crosby finished the day 1/1 on field goals and 1/2 on extra points. Defensively Krys Barnes finished with 5 tackles including one tackle for loss and two assists.
Green Bay falls to 13-4 in the first-ever seventeen-game NFL season and will have next week off to prepare for the NFC Divisional Playoffs where they will face the lowest remaining seed at Lambeau Field. The time and date for the Divisional game in Green Bay will be announced later tonight by the NFL and its four TV partners.
Detroit improved to 3-13-1 and will select #2 overall in next spring’s NFL Draft in Las Vegas.
