WAUSAU, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – A driver was arrested Tuesday afternoon on suspicion of OWI crashing her car with a child inside.
According to Wausau Police, it happened around 3:15 PM Tuesday on Northwestern Avenue near Gold Ridge Road.
A police report says the 31-year-old woman was driving recklessly and passing other cars before crashing. A 5-year-old child was a passenger. No one was hurt.
The car suffered extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
The woman was taken into custody after police suspected she was intoxicated. Her name won’t be released until she makes an initial court appearance.
