University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Athletics
STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — There will be no UWSP basketball action tonight.
Both the Men’s and Women’s games against UW-Oshkosh have been called off due to COVID-19 protocols. Neither game will be made up, and neither will count towards WIAC standings or NCAA tournament selection criteria.
The women’s game was scheduled to take place in Stevens Point, the men were supposed to play in Oshkosh.
The Pointer women have now had four of their last five games canceled, dating back to two scheduled affairs at the Wartburg Tournament which was called off in late December. The men have played just one game since December 21st, a 59-73 loss to UW La Crosse on January 8th.
Both teams are scheduled to take on Platteville this Saturday. The men are scheduled to head to Platteville, while the women will be at home to take on the Pioneers in Berg Gym.
