Katina Mulroy
WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A trial has been set for a Marathon County woman accused of firing a weapon at police officers during an hours-long standoff at a Rib Mountain hotel.
Katina Mulroy will have a week-long trial this October for charges of attempted first-degree intentional homicide, intentionally pointing a firearm at law enforcement, and resisting or obstructing an officer.
Investigators say Mulroy had been a guest at the hotel. When management asked her to leave after her stay was up, she refused and ultimately pointed a firearm at employees.
Officers were called and an hours-long standoff between Mulroy and the officers ensued. Mulroy later pointed the firearm at officers and failed to comply with verbal instructions to drop the weapon. They struck her with a non-lethal round, and Mulroy returned fire.
Officers then fired their weapons at her and she fell to the ground, holding the weapon for several minutes before dropping it. Officers provided first aid at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries.
The trial is officially slated to run from October 10-18. Mulroy, who’s being held on a $50,000 cash bond, will return to court on February 28th.
