ARLINGTON, TX (WSAU) — The San Francisco 49ers held on to defeat the Dallas Cowboys 23-17 on Sunday, setting up a rematch with the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Divisional Playoffs next weekend.
The NFL announced Sunday night that the game at Lambeau Field will be played Saturday, January 22nd with kickoff at 7:15 PM. The game will be broadcast on Fox and will be heard on the Packers Radio Network.
The 49ers advanced when Cowboys QB Dak Prescott scrambled for a first down with no timeouts remaining. Prescott handed the ball to his center with just seconds remaining and then tried to run a play without giving the officials the chance to spot the ball.
Prescott finished 23/43 for 254 yards and one touchdown in the loss.
Green Bay defeated San Francisco 30-28 in Week three on a walk-off 51-yard field goal by Mason Crosby.
The two sides have met eight times in the playoffs with each team winning four games. Their last meeting was a 2013 Wild Card game at Lambeau, which was won by the Niners.
In fact, San Francisco has won the last three postseason matchups between the clubs, all coming in the Aaron Rodgers era.
