WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Weston man is in custody after leading police on a chase back in December.
Trenton McCorkle was spotted in Rothschild weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed on December 14th.
While being pursued, a passenger in the vehicle tossed a bag including drugs, a gun and thousands of dollars in cash. The passenger said she feared for her life and hasn’t been charged.
The chase ended when McCorkle struck a light pole on West Grand Avenue.
The 25-year-old had three open felony charges in Lincoln County and is a convicted felon not allowed to have a gun. He now faces additional charges including possession of meth, fleeing an officer and possessing a firearm as a convicted felon. He was out on a $10,000 bond during the recent arrest.
He remains jailed and a preliminary hearing is set for March 25th.
