STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – If you’ve been missing your mail, you’re not alone.
Several residents in Stevens Point say that the mail delivery system is inconsistent, and that could lead to some big problems. “Like last week I didn’t get mail, I got mail on Saturday, and then I didn’t get mail until yesterday at 7:30 at night.” Amber Buckle, an area resident, told WAOW-TV.
Buckle says her neighborhood hasn’t had a consistent mail carrier in more than a month, but she adds that delays have only been going on for a couple weeks.
“Um before Christmas was the last time we had a consistent carrier, so I would say a couple weeks for me but I have heard people saying it’s been like months, where they’ve gotten their mail like once or twice a week.” said Buckle.
Delays in mail delivery can be problematic if you’re waiting on time-sensitive documents or important packages. In Tammy Salazar’s case, it’s prescription medications. “You know with my prescription, you know I’m expecting a refill when I finish my current prescription,” said Salazar.
USPS stated in an email that the local management was notified, and that they are working to resolve the issues as soon as possible. They didn’t explain why mail delivery has been inconsistent.
