WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — The interim Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Northcentral Health Care has announced she will leave her position.
Jill Meschke will resign effective March 31st for a new opportunity outside the Central Wisconsin area, according to a news release. She’s been with NCHC since March of 2020 and is credited with helping the county-run healthcare facility navigate the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Jill joined NCHC at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic and her leadership has been instrumental during these challenging times. On behalf of the NCCSP Board, I want to extend our sincere thanks for Jill’s hard work and dedication. We wish her and her family all the best in their future endeavors,” said North Central Community Services Program (NCCSP) Board Chair Kurt Gibbs.
Meschke was elevated to Interim CEO following the departure of Michael Loy in the summer of 2021 after an investigation revealed that he had implemented an unauthorized loan program for some employees, including himself.

She was given a vote of confidence from the NCHC oversite board in September when Marathon County Administrator Lance Leonhard said she was interested in continuing to serve in the role, and because of her leadership he didn’t see the need to post for a full-time CEO as long as she was willing to continue in the role.
Meschke did release the following statement regarding her resignation:
“Serving NCHC has been my immense pleasure. The organization is fortunate to have compassionate and dedicated people at all levels and opportunities abound for a bright future for the organization.”
The NCCSP Board and NCHC will provide additional information as it becomes available.
