TOWN OF WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A 33-year-old woman was killed after she was struck by a pickup towing a trailer Saturday night just outside the Wausau city limits.
Sheriff’s officers say Ashley Marie Henle of Wausau died after she was struck by the pickup near the intersection of Townline Road and South 25th Street. The crash occurred just before 7 PM.
The driver of the pickup wasn’t injured. The crash closed a portion of Townline road for over two hours while multiple agencies processed the scene.
Officers are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash. They have noted that it did occur along an unlit stretch of road after sunset and that Henle was wearing dark clothing.
