RIB FALLS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) The Town of Rib Falls needs your help finding stolen street signs.
More than 20 signs were stolen on Saturday night, including street signs and fire numbers. It will cost about $2,000 to replace them.
Hamburg Fire Chief Ryan DeBroux says they have no choice but to replace them, or it could be a safety hazard. “Obviously if we have a public safety emergency out there, whether it’s fire or ambulance, we need to know the roads and the addresses and if those signages are missing, that could create a potential hazard for the responders.”
While the town will be ordering new signs, they’re asking people to keep their eyes and ears open for any word on who took the signs.
Editor’s note: An earlier version of this story said the stolen signs were from Rib Lake, not Rib Falls
