WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU) — The Wood County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help to solve what appears to be a random shooting incident from January 15th.
Officers say a 19-year-old woman was shot in the arm while in her home on Nessa Lane in the Town of Port Edwards that evening. Investigators say they believe the shots came from a small-caliber firearm from the roadway.
The woman was treated and released from a Wisconsin Rapids hospital.
Officers say at this time they have no further clues into the incident. They’re asking anyone in the area with a trail cam or home security system to check their video archive from that day, especially around 7 PM, to see if the pictures show anything suspicious.
Those who’d like to turn their footage over to the Sheriff’s office can do so by calling 715-421-8700 or through Wood County Crimestoppers at 800-325-7867. Tips can also be uploaded through the P3 app for smartphones and tablets.
