WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A woman who participated in a drive-by shooting in Wausau back in July of 2019 averted a trial that was supposed to start today by taking a plea deal.
Amanda Lewis was convicted on two counts of recklessly endangering safety as a party to a crime, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, maintaining a drug trafficking place, and resisting an officer. She will be sentenced on May 31st.
The 37-year-old Lewis was the passenger in a car when the driver, Maurice Bell, allegedly fired two rounds in the direction of the teens as they were walking near N.First Street and McIndoe in downtown Wausau. It was reportedly retaliation for the beating of a 15-year-old a couple of days earlier. The boy who was beaten was a friend of Lewis’s son
Bell and Lewis were in a relationship and the car used was registered to Lewis.
