WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — A Wausau man was arrested following a confrontation at City Hall on Thursday.
Jeffrey Decker is being held on a $1,000 cash bond for three misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct, obstructing an officer, and bail jumping. According to police and officials at City Hall, he appeared at the City Attorney’s office on Thursday when employees informed them that a man was causing a disturbance by refusing to leave their office.
He became confrontational with officers who were trying to detain him but eventually was put in handcuffs and taken from the building.
During an initial appearance on Friday Judge Scott Corbett set several conditions including no-contact orders with two people identified only by their initials and any member of the Deeply Rooted Church. He’s also to have no contact with any school employees or children and the City Attorney’s office.
Corbett’s instructions also include Decker being placed under pretrial monitoring at Level 4 should he bond out with possible drug screening.
He’ll return to court on March 8th and again in April ahead of a May 16th jury trial on the charges.
