STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — The UWSP mens basketball team dropped a 72-58 decision to UW-PLatteville on Saturday at Quandt Fieldhouse.
Brennan Timm led the Pointers with 13 points. Garrett Nelson had 12 and Zach Mootz added 11.
The Pointers, now 3-13, 0-9 in WIAC, will host UW-Oshkosh on Wednesday.
The UWSP womens basketball team came from behind and beat UW-Platteville75-72 on Saturday. Alexa Thomson hit a three-pointer with two seconds left for the victory.
Jessica Slowik had 19 points to the lead the Pointers. Thomson had 12 points and nine rebounds. Jamie Pfeifer had 11 and Josie Nies added 10.
The Pointers, now 10-8, 3-6 in the WIAC, will head to Oshkosh on Wednesday.
The #11 ranked UWSP mens hockey team won their fourth in a row with a 3-0 victory over UW-Stout on Saturday night at KB Willet Arena.
Wilson Northey scored twice for the Pointers and Conor Witherspoon notched the other goal. Eli Billing had 28 saves.
The Pointers, now 15-5-1, 9-2 in the WIAC, will play their final home game Wednesday vs UW-Superior.
The UWSP womens hockey team shutout Northland College 5-0 on Saturday at IceHawks Arena.
The Pointers outshot Northland 59-15. Olivia Schultz had the 15 saves.
Five different Pointer players scored goals. Haley Sellars, Katie Stanius, Mary Kremer, Sara Aadalen and Courtney Leising had the goals.
The Pointers, now 10-12, 4-5 in the WIAC, travel to Superior on Friday.
