TOWN OF PRESTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The driver of a truck that went through the ice on a lake in Adams County over the weekend was not injured.
The Adams County Sheriff’s Office says they were dispatched just before 10:30 Saturday morning to the boat landing at Big Roche A Cri Lake. Deputies were told a vehicle had gone through the ice. The driver, Ryan Easterson, got out safely.
Easterson was on the east side of the State Highway 13 bridge. He tried to drive west under the bridge, when the truck began to fall through the ice.
Ice may not be as thick underneath structures or near bridge pilings.
