ASHLAND, WI (WSAU) — The #10 ranked UWSP mens hockey team dumped Northland College 7-3 on Saturday and won their 15th WIAC regular season title.
David Hill and Jordan Fader scored twice each for the Pointers. Other goals went to Fletcher Anderson, Brady Smith and Dawson Sciarrino.
The Pointers, now 18-5-1, will play a re-scheduled non-conference game at Hamline on Wednesday at 4pm.
The UWSP womens hockey team dropped UW-Superior 3-1 on the road Saturday.
Dani Heitsman had two goals and Nicole Neuberger had one in the victory. Olivia Schultz had 26 saves.
The Pointers, now 11-13, will close out the regular season with a game at Concordia-Wisconsin on Tuesday at 7pm.
The UWSP mens basketball team came up short in a 60-59 loss Saturday at UW-Eau Claire.
Jake Buchanan led all scorers with 18 points on 7-11 shooting. Brennan Timm and Garrett Nelson had 12 each for the Pointers.
UWSP, now 3-15, will wrap up the regular season hosting UW-River Falls on Wednesday at 7pm.
The UWSP womens basketball team upset #18 ranked UW-Eau Claire with a 69-55 win on Saturday at Berg Gym.
Gabby Gawlitta had a double-double with 17 points and 14 rebounds. Jamie Pfeifer had 17 points and Taylor Greenheck added 16.
The Pointers, now 11-9, will close out the regular season on Wednesday at UW-River Falls.
