STEVENS POINT, WI (WSAU) — Just days after he was announced as the preferred candidate, JB Moody has formally accepted the position of Fire Chief in the City of Stevens Point.
The process was finalized Wednesday following a vote of the city’s Police and Fire Commission. Moody will begin his duties on March 2nd.
“I am very happy with the selection of Jb Moody as the new Chief,“ said Stevens Point Mayor Mike Wiza. “I know the Commission had their work cut out for them in this selection. Chief Finn has been instrumental in creating our new training facility along with many other improvements that allow Stevens Point to work towards an ISO 1 rating. Jb will continue that progress, and I look forward to working with him.”
Moody has served the Stevens Point community since 2004. He’s served as Assistant Chief since 2018.
Current Fire Chief Bob Finn is retiring effective March 1st.
