WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Management at Wausau’s Grand Theater has removed the venue’s requirements for COVID-19 testing or vaccination, effective this Friday.
Executive Director Sean Wright says the decision was made in conjunction with the producers of the upcoming shows at the venue. “We appreciate the patience and continued support from
our patrons and donors throughout this season,” said Wright. “We’re also encouraged to see the COVID-19 numbers improving throughout Wisconsin.”
The Grand Theater will still require all patrons over the age of 2 to wear face coverings in the building except when eating or drinking. Wright also notes that specific traveling shows may have different COVID-19 restrictions in place, and the venue could change its policies as the data surrounding the virus changes.
Should any show have different COVID-19 policies, those will be listed on the Theater’s website. Wright notes that at this time, no scheduled show at the Grand has more restrictive policies in place beyond masking.
Since August 2021 the Grand has also upgraded its HVAC units to include ionization systems for better circulation and filtering of air. Touchpoints in the lobby and bathrooms have also been removed with the installation of automatic faucets, paper towel dispensers, digital ticket scanners, and digital program options.
Ticketholders are encouraged to visit the Grand Theater’s website for the most up-to-date health and safety information along with updated show schedules.
