Snowmobile accident graphic
WASHINGTON, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – One person is dead after a snowmobile accident in the Town of Washington in Vilas County.
The sheriff’s department said it happened just after 2pm Sunday. Deputies got a call of an unconscious snowmobiler who had hit a tree. The crash occurred on Trail 17 near marker 149.
When first responders arrived, they said they found the snowmobiler had hit a metal gate as well as several trees.
The driver was taken to a hospital and was pronounced dead.
The name of the victim has not yet been released. The crash is under investigation.
