WISCONSIN RAPIDS, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – New construction begins Monday at Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids. That also means changes to the student drop off and pick up starting on Tuesday morning.
The construction plan comes after a referendum passed in April 2021 that will allow for changes to science classrooms and build a new library and media center.
Students who take the bus will be dropped off in the front lot of LHS and will enter the building through doors G and F. Parents or gradians who drop off and pick up their children will now go through the student lot. Directions will be marked in the parking lot. There will be no drop-off or pick-up at the front entrance of the school.
LHS principal Ronald Rasmussen sent a five-minute-long video to families about the impending changes. “We do fully realize this will be an inconvenience for families we do encourage you to have patience,” Rasmussen said. “As well as, if you can drop off your son or daughter off earlier that will make a difference.”
Traffic changes will be in effect throughout the construction period and into the next school year.
