ROTHSCHILD, WI (WSAU-WAOW) – The Marathon County Sheriff’s office says a man is under arrest on drug trafficking charges.
On Monday investigators went to the Stoney Creek Hotel in Rothschild where they say they believed Lawrence Lavergne, also known as Gizmo, was in possession of a large amount of methamphetamine. A search warrant was executed with the help of the Marathon County SWAT team.
When the SWAT team arrived, Lavergne tried to escape by jumping from a second story window.
He suffered minor injuries, and was taken to the hospital by an ambulance before being taken to the Marathon County Jail.
When investigators searched his hotel room, they found 267 grams of methamphetamine, several items of drug paraphernalia, and $7,362 in cash.
Lavergne is facing charges of possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of THC, Obstructing an officer, and a probation hold.
He’ll make an initial court appearance on Wednesday.
