RIB FALLS, WI (WSAU) — A man who was committed under Wisconsin’s sexually violent person law will be released in the Marathon County Town of Rib Falls this week.
William H. Craig will be monitored extensively and will have a mandated curfew schedule and more than 70 rules to be followed including not going near schools and parks.
He was released from the Sand Ridge Secure Treatment Facility on February 1st and will live at 133400 Hwy 29 in the Town of Rib Falls, in a house that is part of the Department of Health Services supervised release program.
Marathon County Sheriff Scott Parks said that after serving his prison sentence for first-degree sexual assault of a child Craig was committed and underwent treatment. The 34-year-old could then petition for supervised release every 12 months. Parks says the program helps the individual make a “successful transition back to the community including housing, employment, medication and continued treatment.”
A person on supervised release faces stricter conditions than other sex offenders and must use a chaperone anytime he leaves the house for the first year.
If you see Craig violate conditions or rules you should report it to the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office. You can find a list of rules on the program at www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/sr.
