MINNEAPOLIS, Minn (WSAU) — The short-handed Wisconsin mens basketball team held off Minnesota 68-67 on Wednesday night at venerable Williams Arena.
Brad Davison hit a couple of free throws late that iced the game after Steven Crowl hit a bucket and Tyler Wahl kept a late possession alive.
Minnesota natives Crowl had 20 points and seven rebounds while Wahl had 12 points and 10 boards to lead Wisconsin. Johnny Davis fouled out with 12 points.
Wisconsin has won 33 of the last 42 games with the Gophers since 1999.
The Badgers were without guards Jacobi Neath (suspension) and Lorne Bowman (illness) so Jordan Davis got some extended time scoring seven points in just over 20 minutes of action.
The 13th ranked Badgers, now 22-5, 13-4 in Big Ten, will travel to Rutgers on Saturday evening. You can hear the game starting with the pre-game show at 4pm on WSAU.
