WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) Henry West, the man who shot three people at the Pine Grove Cemetery in 2019, has been convicted under a plea bargain.
West appeared in Marathon County Court and entered guilty pleas to five charges. 12 other counts against him were dismissed.
The judge then found him guilty, and remanded him to the county jail until sentencing.
A sentencing date is scheduled for May 26. He will get a mandatory life sentence; the judge will decide if he is ever eligible for parole.
West, a former cemetery employee, shot three people in October 2019. Two were wounded. A third, the cemetery manager Patty Grimm, was killed.
West also booby-trapped his apartment in Schofield, hoping to spark an explosion. The devices were disconnected by local law enforcement.
