MADISON, WI (WSAU) — Wisconsin fell in their regular-season finale 74-73 to Nebraska but still has the all-important double-bye in the upcoming Big Ten tournament in Indianapolis.
Brad Davison led the way for the Badgers with 20 points including 5-15 shooting from the floor and 7-9 from the free throw line. He also recorded four rebounds and three assists.
Tyler Wahl and Chris Vogt each chipped in 13, with Vogt doing so off the bench. Johnny Davis was a perfect 4-4 from the floor in recording 10 points.
Wahl and Steven Crowl each pulled in seven rebounds in the losing effort.
Alonzo Verge Jr recorded the game-high for Nebraska with 26 points and six assists. Derrick Walker added 13.
Wisconsin shot 40% in the game compared to 53% for Nebraska. Wisconsin was hurt from the three-point line, where they shot just 5-23 (21.7%).
The Badgers fall to 26-5 overall and 15-5 in conference play.
Seedings for the Big Ten tournament will be locked in later tonight after the completion of the final regular-season games. Wisconsin will be either the 1 or the 2 seed, meaning they will enter the tournament on Friday in the quarterfinal round and will need just three wins to capture the title and the automatic birth to the NCAA tournament that goes with it.
