TOWN OF McCORD, WI (WSAU) — A 22-year-old Eagle River woman was killed in a head-on collision between a car and a semi on Tuesday in Lincoln County.
Officers were called out to the intersection of Highway 8 and McCord Road at around 7:45 where witnesses say a black Chevy Malibu driven by the woman had drifted from the eastbound lane into the westbound lane, colliding with the semi.
The woman died at the scene. The driver of the semi, a 61-year-old man from DeKalb, IL, was not injured in the crash.
The incident closed a portion of Highway 8 for several hours while crews investigated and processed the scene.
Names of those involved have not been released.
