MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) — Major League Baseball has announced the revised 2022 regular-season schedule, which includes 31 league-wide doubleheaders and an extra week of regular-season games to make up for the late start to spring training.
The Milwaukee Brewers will play one of those doubleheaders on September 8th against the San Francisco Giants at American Family Field. Game one will begin at 3:10, with game two immediately following.
Milwaukee will now end the season with nine consecutive home games as well beginning September 27th with the first of two against the St. Louis Cardinals. A four-game set against Miami will follow, beginning September 29th, followed by three against the Arizona Diamondbacks October 3rd-5th.
Milwaukee and Arizona were originally scheduled to open the season with three games at American Family Field. Instead, now they’ll close out the season that way.
The Brewers’ first regular-season game will be April 7th against the Cubs in Chicago. They’ll also play the Orioles home opener in Baltimore on April 11th before playing their own home opener on April 14th against St. Louis.
The Spring Training opener is March 18th against the LA Dodgers.
Updates to the 2022 schedule brought on by the impacts of the dispute over the CBA have created several oddities, including five-game series between some division rivals due to added doubleheaders and several extended homestands to end the season.
