WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — If you requested an absentee ballot for the Spring election in Wausau wards 3, 5, and 7 check it over closely- as you may have been sent the incorrect ballot.
Wausau Clerk Kaitlyn Bernarde says her office initially sent ballots with the D.C. Everest School Board race on them to all voters in those wards. However, portions of those wards lie in the Wausau School District.
The mix-up impacts about 66 voters, all of whom were sent new ballots on Monday with the Wausau School Board race and referendum question on them.
Those voters are asked to return the second ballot even if they have already voted and returned the first. If both ballots are returned to City Hall, only the most recent ballot will be counted.
Voters still have time to request an absentee ballot for the April 5th election. In-person absentee voting will also be offered at City Hall beginning March 22nd.
