AUBURNDALE, FLA (WSAU) — The UWSP baseball team came from behind and beat Wooster 11-10 in 10 innings on Monday.
Matt Baumann and Lucas Luedtke had three hits each and Luedtke had 2 RBIs. Aaron Simmons and Payton Nelson had two hits each. Nelson scored three runs and drove in two. Brendan Canterbury had a home run.
The Scots were up 10-4 in the eight inning before the Pointers mounted their comeback scoring five runs in the eighth and tying the game with one in the ninth. Two walks and a Baumann base hit won it in the 10th.
Nathan Krommenakker picked up the win with two perfect innings of relief.
The Pointers, now 6-1, will play Washington & Jefferson this afternoon.
The UWSP softball team split a pair of games on Monday. They lost to St. Catherines 19-2 and beat 10th ranked Tufts 4-2.
Jenna Eilers had three hits on the day and scored twice in the win. Amy Van Beek got a strikeout with the bases loaded to end game two a preserve the victory.
The Pointers, now 10-4, will plya two games today facing Kalamazoo and Chicago.
