TOWN OF NEW HOPE, WI (WSAU) — A Portage County homeowner found something more than empty trash bins as they went to bring their containers back to the house on garbage day.
The unidentified resident found a handful of trash bags that contained more than 100 mason jars filled with marijuana. Portage County Sheriff Mike Lukas says it may have been part of a drug deal gone bad, and something that the sellers wanted to get rid of quickly.
All told the jars contained about ten pounds of pot.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Portage County Crimestoppers at 1-888-346-6600 or through the P3 app for smartphones and tablets.
