CLERMONT, FLA (WSAU) — The UWSP softball team won both games on Tuesday on their Florida trip. They knocked off Kalamazoo 10-9 and Chicago 3-1.
Abby Van Beek had a great day in the circle with a combined 12 inning pitcched in the two ball games & a complete game vs Chicago. She struck out 12 and gave up just one earned run.
Maddie Candre had three hits in each game, three runs scored and an RBI. Jesse Klicker and Rachel Baker had three hits each. Sara Traxel and Becca Geiyer had three RBIs each.
The Pointers, now 12-4, will have Wednesday off before facing Elmurst and Luther on Thursday.
The UWSP baseball team knocked off Washington & Jefferson College 3-0 on Tuesday.
Aaron Simmons drove in all three runs and three pitchers combined on the shutout. Caleb Krommenakker tossed 6.1 innings to earn the win. JD Schultz and Sidney Ferry finished up.
The Pointers, now 7-1, will wrap up their trip today with a game against #24 ranked Johns Hopkins at 9:30 am.
