NEILLSVILLE, WI (WSAU) — The man accused of killing Cassandra Ayon and hiding her body will go to trial for charges of homicide, stalking, and hiding a corpse in early 2023.
On Friday a Judge scheduled a week-long trial for Jesus Contreras Perez to begin January 23rd and run through the 27th. A final pre-trial conference was also scheduled for January 4th.
Contreras Perez is accused of killing Ayon in the Fall of 2020. The two were said to have been in an abusive relationship, and she had reportedly told friends she felt threatened by him. Her body still hasn’t been recovered.
The 42-year-old has been held on a $1 million bond.
