
PHOENIX, Az (WSAU) — As expected, the reigning National League Cy Young Award winner will start on Opening Day for Milwaukee.
Brewers manager Craig Counsell announced in Tuesday that Corbin Burnes will be on the mound April 7th when the Brewers play the Cubs at Wrigley Field.
Burnes was 11-5 last season with a major-league leading 2.43 ERA and 234 strikeouts in 167 innings. This will be his first Opening Day start.
He will make one more Spring Training start on Saturday night.
