BROOKLYN, NY (WSAU) — Giannis Antetokounmpo became the all-time leading scorer in Milwaukee Bucks history and the Bucks rallied to beat the Brooklyn Nets 120-119 in overtime on Thursday night at Barclays Center.
He needed 40 points to break Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record and finished with 44 points, 14 rebounds and six assists.
He also sent the game to OT with a step-back three pointer with 10 seconds left that tied the game at 110. And hit the game winning free throws with three seconds left after going coast to coast and drawing a foul when Kevin Durant had given the Nets a one point lead with 8.7 seconds remaining
Durant led Brooklyn with 26 points and 11 rebounds and his game winning attempt at the buzzer rolled off the rim. Kyrie Irving added 25.
Jrue Holiday scored 19 points and Khris Middleton added 16 & nine rebounds before being ejected for a flagrant foul.
Milwaukee won the game despite giving up 18 three-pointers and having 23 turnovers.
The Bucks, now 48-28, return home to take on the LA Clippers tonight. You can hear the game on FM 93.9 The Game.
